Joseph Menna is classically trained artist with over 20 years of experience. He has a BFA in sculpture from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia and a MFA in sculpture from the New York Academy Graduate School of Figurative Art in Manhattan. He supplemented his degree programs with studies at the Pennslyvania Academy of Fine Arts, the Art Students League, and the Sculpture Center. During these years he also studied privately with Classically trained Russian Artists such as Leonid Lerman(of the Mukhina Institute) for sculpture and Leonid Gervits(of the Repin Academy) for drawing. He completed his education with two years of post graduate work at the Mukhina Institute in St.Petersburg, Russia where he studied monumental sculpture and classical drawing.

Following his education, Joseph spent 8 years working as a professional fine art sculptor creating both public and private commissions while working at a fine art bronze foundry. During this time, he also developed an interest in digital sculpture. This new focus set him on the path to becoming a leading practitioner of digital sculpture and digital product development. He is an expert in all phases of digital sculpture production from the initial digital sculpt to the final rapid prototype or CNC generated tooling. His list of current and former clients includes DC Comics, Hasbro Toys, Bowen Designs, SensAble Technologies, Electric Tiki, and many others involved in the fine art and collectible sculpture markets. He is also an active participant in the beta testing of many of the world's leading digital sculpting applications.

Joseph's software skills and experience include:  FreeForm, Mudbox, ZBrush, Alias Studio , Autodesk Maya, and more.  He currently works full time as a digital medallic sculptor for the United States Mint and continues to do freelance work for all aspects of the toy, entertainment, and software industries.
